I don’t know if you’ve noticed - but I’m sure badges/brands on cars have begun to get a lot bigger lately - VW, SEAT, BMW, Mercedes, Renault - they’re all at it. Dirty great big badges. It all seems a little uncouth and in your face - I bet the Aston Martin doesn’t have to shout so loud.
Still at the end of the day it’s all about branding, and rather like Nike sneaking it’s logo further up their shirts for good TV coverage, it’s all about ‘exposure’.
The Nike case in particular you have to applaud for the creative thinking, seems obvious now, but they were the first. Far more ingenious than just making it bigger.
Make the logo bigger

I’m all for a more creative approach to branding.
